For a couple of months now, I’ve been keen to launch a email newsletter for Aliventures. I love writing the posts here – and hugely appreciate all your comments and emails – and I’d like to be able to offer you a bit more with a regular newsletter.
Here on the blog, I tend to write content which poses questions and explores thoughts, but which doesn’t necessarily offer solutions. In my experience, there often aren’t any magic bullets … but, at many times, straightforward, practical advice can really help.
The Aliventures newsletter will include short, action-focused articles. It will usually come out every two weeks, and I’ll include links and summaries for the blog posts which have been published on Aliventures, so you can catch up with anything you’ve missed.
The newsletter is also a chance for me to:
- Give you a heads-up (and a hefty discount!) on new products which I launch – hint, there’s going to be something special coming up in a couple of months.
- Point you towards great resources elsewhere online, and offline
- Stay in touch with you and find out what you want me to write more about
If you enjoy my writing here on Aliventures, I’m very much hoping you’ll enjoy the newsletter too.
It should go without saying, but sadly in this age of spammers it doesn’t: I will never sell your email address or share it with third-parties. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time (there’ll be an unsubscribe link on every single newsletter).
The newsletter will come from my own email account, so if you want to respond or get in touch any time, you can just hit reply.
Want in? Pop your email address in here and hit “Sign up”.
You’ll get an email prompting you to confirm your membership. It’ll be titled with your name and the words “Please confirm that you want the Aliventures newsletter”)
(If this doesn’t arrive within an hour, check your spam filter.)
There’ll be a section with a link, like this:

You need to click on that link in order to get the newsletter emails. Once you’ve done so, you’ll get a “thanks” page, and then you’re all set!
If you have any problems or questions, just drop me a line (ali@aliventures.com), or leave a comment below.

Why are you doing this ? Why an email ?
Why not just put the material in this blog or another blog.
I prefer to get all my reading material in my RSS reader and leave the email for action/work related stuff.
What possible benefit can a newsletter give you OR us ?
I am not going to sign-up.
I hope that you’ll reconsider the format.
It’s so I can share transient, shorter pieces of writing – I try to keep the blog for fairly substantial, timeless posts (ones like this are an exception!)
Plus, sometimes there’ll be things I want to share with a select group but not with the entire world (since the blog is publicly available). Like discount codes, or freebies that I want to try out on a small audience.
From my readers’ point of view, a lot don’t use RSS. Of those who do subscribe to get posts from Aliventures, 30.4% currently choose to get those posts into their inbox, not into an RSS reader.
Hope that helps explain the decision, and feel free to drop me an email or leave another comment if you’ve got any more questions!
Ali, I salute you for taking the next step as an entrepreneur and content provider, and I just signed up. I’ll be following with interest.
To “Me” commenter above: You’ll still get all the good blog posts. Ali spends a lot of time researching and writing blog posts, and she’s making the next logical move to expand her audience and her offerings.

Thanks John!
And yes, of course I’ll still be blogging as usual.
I like how you gave further explanations about your newsletter in the comment section. I’m seriously considering joining your email list.

Thanks, Julius. Totally up to you! You can always join and then unsubscribe if I get annoying.
(In seriousness, I completely understand inbox overload — I drop on and off the list of some newslettesr myself — and I’ll do my best to be relevant and interesting!)
I just signed up. I’m really looking forward to your newsletter, and especially action-focused articles.

Lovely idea. I’m in for any great info from you, Ali.

Ali,
You may not believe this, but just a week ago…I gazed into my crystal ball….okay, I admit it…I was talking to the mirror on my wall, which shows me hideous images of my non-macho self…
“Mirror mirror on the wall, what will Ali come up with next, after all?”
“Obviously, a newsletter. Bloke, are you slow?”
“Hey, that’s no way to talk to me. Be polite now. I rule this home and you’re just a guest.”
Anyway, point is: I was right, which just goes to show what an awesome mind-reader I am. And that I can predict the future too. Man, I am in the wrong business…but congratulations anyway. Cheers!
I won’t ask what you’d been smoking at the time of this incident…
For my next trick, I’ll produce an a ebook…
Good move. Maybe I’ll follow your lead. Writing a newsletter or communique might let me get a little deeper and insightful on things … or at least change it up a bit.
I think when I do it, I’ll probably put together an ebook or some welcome gift. I’m not sure. Just thinking out loud

Cheers J.D! Though is that a subtle hint that you wanted a welcome gift from me?
that’s a good step Ali, you already have lots of fans and i am sure they would live to keep in touch through the newsletter

Cheers Farouk! I’m hoping so! Quite a lot of people have signed up already, which is great.
